Ore & Tailings

The strategic location of the processing facility invites many opportunities from local miners. The simplest way to turn a profit through the plant is to purchase the mineral up front from the miners. After delivery we generally have 72 hours to complete payment. This allows us the time to test the grade of the ore before processing it and in circumstances where there is a small amount of mineral delivered we may even be able to process it all within that time.

Before ore is bought, it must be sampled in order to ascertain the grade and recovery rate acheivable. This sampling is carried out with the assistance of Lab Peru who have entered into a joint venture agreement with our operating partner for this purpose.

Lab Peru has been in business in Nazca, Peru for 5 years and is currently implementing its Quality Management System ISO 9001.

The Ore is paid after the chemical analysis has been performed at the on site lab located within the Yuromayo processing plant or a trusted Lab.

Mineral will only be bought from miners who are legally authorized to sell mineral. It is against the law to do it otherwise.

In circumstances where miners do not hold correct permits, the opportunity may present to enter joint venture agreements where we can assist with the necessary filing to attain the permits. Read more about exploration joint ventures here.

Another deal, of which there are many similar opportunities, is a tailings project. Early miners have processed mineral and left huge stock piles of tailings. 50-100 years ago the processing techniques weren't nearly as efficient as they are today and most of the tailings still have a fairly high grade. There is no exploration work required. It is simply a matter of transporting it all. It is a clean up operation that the local community is keen to see completed. Negotiations ensure that the community benefits from the profits as well.

The picture to the right is of approximately 50,000,000 tonnes of tailings estimated to be between 2-7 grams of gold per tonne. High levels of silver also present on many of the early assay results.
